The COR66 RAV is a very versatile model. We have designed this model for people who would like to have a travel yacht with a style closer to cruiser yachts. Without losing any of the features of classic expedition yachts.

  • High bulwarks ensure exemplary safety for children and adults.
  • Highly raised bow reduces flooding the deck by waves.
  • The yacht has several relaxation zones.

You can take your friends on a long journey. Everyone will find a place for themselves.

COR66 R.A.V. – specification

COR66 is very versatile, you can configure it in many ways. It comes in two main solutions of the space below the deck and propulsions.
Due to the different drive configuration, the interior can be very spacious.

Design od luxurious yacht

The cabin at the stern can be made in many ways:
To be an additional stateroom with huge windows wit view on the sea.
The beach bar. A place of use for divers. A place for fisherman.

There is also a place for a sauna in this space.
It can also be a traditional utility and crew cabin.

The swimming platform is available in three basic sizes.
Like all our models, COR66 has a semi-displacement hull with very good properties. It have great stability and bravery in water.

Interiors can be made in various styles, with the use of various materials.

Additional bottom elements, such as an extended keel or a cutting bulbous bow, are made on request

Buoyancy and mechanical solutions

R.A.V. it is built on a semi-displacement hull. during the design, particular attention was paid to lowering the resistance to the speed up to 10kts. The second factor is the ability to develop higher speeds after delivering more power. This hull has no abutment hump on its curve like most LRC designs.

The development of this hull is an additional cutting beak increasing efficiency and comfort on the waves sea.

A twin configuration of John Deere or SCANIA engines and ZF transmissions were used for the drive. A proven solution guarantees trouble-free use.

For increased comfort, we offer the possibility of installing the thrust transmission with the Aquadrive thrust bearing.

The design includes bow and stern SLIPNER thrusters. With electric or hydraulic drive.

The electric bow thruster is mounted as standard. The thruster can work with constant efficiency or proportionally.

The newest tehnology

The electrical system can be built as an coastal pilot or long range with two power generators and full redundancy.

The system components are VICTRON ENERGY and KOHLER.

Bilge pumps. As standard, two bilge pumps are installed for each compartment. A total of 6 pumps. Low and high level ideas.

Additionally, high-level pumps driven by the main engine can be used.

The control integration control system is provided by the excellent ZF SmartCommand system with the 5200 Type station.

CORMORANT HIGHLIGHTS

SAFETY FIRST

Safety is the highest priority when designing our yachts. Our yachts have been well thought out in terms of safety. Even the best entertainment on the water must be ensured with safety com

Some of its features are:

  • Very solid construction made in a high quality regime.
  • The high bulwarks, which are close to 1m / 3.2ft, ensure the safety of all but especially children
  • Lifebuoys are always placed in fixed places. On the main deck, in the recesses next to the Pilot House. According to the idea that there must be a human during the journey in Pilot House, it is very easy to press the MOB command and quickly throw out the lifebuoy from port or starboard.
  • The lifebuoys do not interfere with the normal use of the yacht.
  • We have placed additional lifebuoys on the Flybridge, and there is also a fixed place for a liferaft.
  • Each yacht is equipped with above-standard solutions for pumping out bilge water. The yacht is divided into three main scale ranges. Each has a standard 32l / min 8.48GPM pump and a high water level pump with a 200L / min 52.8GPM capacity. These pumps are connected to three power sources that can be selected. Battery Bank 1.HOUSE, 2.HVAC, 3.ENGINE START. additionally, a hand pump with a distributor is installed, which allows pumping out water from a given section with a capacity of up to 100l / min 26.4 GPM

For yachts configured as Long Range Cruiser, an additional mechanical driven pump is installed directly from the main engine. As the hull has a sandwich structure, it can be assumed that during a collision, e.g. with a shipping container, the plating will become unsealed but not torn enough to create a significant hole. In line with this, an additional pump will constantly pump water out of that section.

  • An important element of safety is the BOENING diagnostic and alarm system with the ability to warn about all dangerous situations.
  • Backup batteries for basic communication and navigation are located near the wheelhouse above the main deck. In case of an emergency at sea, they will ensure access to communication and basic navigational parameters. This also applies to navigation lightingThey allow these devices to work for several ten hours.
  • As standard, each of our yachts is equipped with two independent VHF radios with separate antennas. Two independent GPS receivers. Each yacht is equipped with a radar. Foghorn. Transponder AIS B class. LRC configuration AIS class A.
  • Each of our yachts is equipped with the IRIDIUM satellite communicator as standard, which, unlike traditional radio beacons, communicates very quickly with the aid units. The communicator also has the function of notifying about receiving an emergency call.
  • The twin drive system provides better properties than the single engine with an additional get-home engine, usually when it turns out that it is necessary to use a wing motor, its parameters in critical situations are insufficient.
  • For Long Range Cruiser configuration. The steering, fuel, electric and water systems are redundant.

More information is contained in the individual specification ranges on the following sheets

  • In terms of fire safety, we used two automatic fire extinguishing systems by SEA FIRE, one in the engine room, the other in the bow engine room

CONSTRUCTION

Thanks to the excellent experience of the design office Structeam from the UK, the structure has been designed in a very thoughtful way. The weighted months are made of a very large amount of reinforcements and a significant thickness of the laminate. However, in places where the structure does not carry loads, it is lighter. Such a method is typical of sophisticated methods of designing advanced yachts and it boldly displaces methods in which heavy structures are installed without much justification. Instead of weight, we use sophisticated materials and infusion lamination. Weight is the basic parameter influencing the economy of swimming. Thus, this aspect contributes to the definition of our units as ecological.

Constructions Parameters:

Construction type: GRP – all parts manufactured in Vacuum Infusion Process

Primary materials :

  • -eg.DIPEX/ SAERTEX multiaxials fiberglass materials,
  • -eg.BUFA, Ashland, Scott Bader resin & gelcoat materials or better
  • Polyester or vinyloester resin for vacuum infused parts on demand.
  • Hull COR555/690 – The hull structure assumes a laminate with a foam CORE eg. Divinycell/Mycell 25mm-35mm H100/H130/H200. Except keel, bow, chine and shaft line housing that are made of SOLID laminate up to 19 800 grams per 1sq.m. The lamination process is performed using the vacuum infusion technology with first layers of vinyloester resin wet laminated skincoat.
  • SoricTF is used as printblocker on first layers for infusion on most crucial parts.
  • For supporters of a hull made of FULLY SOLID laminate, it is possible to make a structure in this technology.
  • Longitudinal Stringers –  six full length girders on hull bottom plus two stringers on each side,
  • solid laminate manufactured in infusion on structural foam sections with capping up to 23 500  grams per 1sq.m.  Additional beams and panels locally on hull, deck , flybridge and hardtop.
  • Bulkheads –  infusion composite with Divinycell/Mycell CORE foam  H80 30mm-35mm. Multiaxial fiberglass up to 8800 grams per 1sq.m.
  • Main Deck – infusion composite with Divinycell/Mycell CORE foam  H80 20mm-25mm. Multiaxial fiberglass up to 16 200 grams per 1sq.m.
  • Deck / hull connection – with structural adhesive e.g. Crestomer 1152PA or simillar, solid without core, bonded connection and then laminated with multiaxial fiberglass tapes.
  • Superstructure, Pillars, Hardtop – sandwich infusion composite with Divinycell/Mycell CORE foam  H80/H200 20mm-35mm. Multiaxial fiberglass up to 15 000 grams per 1sq.m.
  • Engine and thrust bearing foundation made of solid laminate with tight fitted washer metal plates without overlaminating them.
  • Finishing laminate BUFA, Ashland, Scott Bader, Stoppani

  • Windows in the superstructure:
  • We use two types of glass thickness in windows. Windows with higher aesthetics usually have a glass thickness of 6 to 8 mm.
  • Less aesthetic windows have glass with a thickness of 12 to 16 mm and are intended mainly for yachts built in the LRC configuration. Regardless of the method of use, all windows meet the stringent standards for CE A-ocean certification. Additionally, storm covers of LEXAN can be used.
  • The windows in the Hull:
  • Portholes: We use portholes with acrylic glass with a thickness of 10mm to 12mm.
  • Large side windows are made of glass from 12 to 16mm.
  • Smaller hull windows can be equipped with steel storm covers mounted from the inside.

Finishing laminate surfaces

  • As standard, the hull and superstructure are covered with white gelcoat
  • Additionally, at the customer’s request, we can polish the hull and superstructure with a single-layer varnish or tri-coat pearl / metallic.

SEAWORTHINESS & BUOYANCY

All the hulls we use have been designed directly for us by the office of engineer Grzegorz Władziński. In response to the high demands, hulls were created that combine the following features.

  • Sharp bow on the waterline, squat where space is needed inside.
  • The almost vertical bow not only introduces a professional character to the silhouette. It allows you to make better use of the space in the interior. A large usable space is created between the bow edge and the collision bulkhead.
  • A high bow (over 3m / 10ft from the waterline) reduces soaking of the fore deck.
  • Reduced resistance in the speed range of 7-10kts.
  • The flattened stern allows a lot of carry when you need to go faster, such as when you want to get away from bad weather or reach anchorage before nighttime.
  • The flattened hull at the stern, devoid of the classic V, effectively reduces side-to-side swaying.
  • Wide on the waterline. Effectively contributes to increasing stability.
  • All weights have been placed as low as possible. The drive engines are placed extremely low. It is also conducive to lowering the rocking arm. Increases comfort on board.
  • The additional optional keel performs several functions. It adds buoyancy, allows you to add ballast, lower the center of gravity and increase the strength of the righting arm. Perfectly improves stability and prevents the hull from swinging. It protects the rudders and the screws at the sandbar passes, while the steel fittings of the trousers are secured by the laminate.
  • The cutting beak of the pear is not a typical bulbous beak. It definitely does a different job in our hulls. The cutting bow pear perfectly cuts the water in front of the hull proper, causing the water to stick to the hull and hold it as far as possible to avoid creating energy-consuming vortices. In addition, the modeling of its bottom part perfectly affects the comfort of swimming in the undulating sea.
  • On request, a stabilization system, active fins is available.
  • Our bow thruster tunnels are always designed and then CFD tested. We do it because basic modeling is not enough to contain the water in the vicinity of the bow rudders. As a result of these actions, we know that the water will not flow into the tunnel creating undesirable vortices and resistance.
  • We design the exits of our underwater exhausts using the same method.
  • The drainage of decks during stormy weather is ensured by storm drains. We always design them and then test their effectiveness. Our drains have a reverse blocking function.

BULBOUS CUTTIN BOW For better comfort on a rough sea. For better fuel economy

We do not use traditional pressure bulbous bows as they are only suitable for one speed. Instead, we use a more useful solution. Cutting bow that increases efficiency with speed.

CFD YACHT behavior in the most difficult weather conditions

Checking the yacht’s bravery during a storm, in addition, the yacht turns 90 °, e.g. in the event of the captain losing control, then the side is set to the wave. One of the worst possible situations.

It presents the method of studying the yacht’s behavior on the example of COR 555/690

It should be remembered that the situations presented in the research go far beyond the capabilities of the crew on board. For us, the builders confirm the abilities of our yacht during the voyage. In this case, the tested model COR555 is loaded with 3/4 of fuel, water and full food storage. Although it is not visible in the CFD simulation, we assumed a weight from DINGHY on a 750 kg flybridge.

We test all our units using the same method

Righting lever force test for heel to port 60 °. This is particularly difficult due to the enormous amount of water taking up on the decks

One of the worst situations.

This is particularly difficult due to the enormous amount of water taking up on the decks. Please pay attention to the work of the water drains from the decks. How important is their size and location.

PERFECT COMBINATION
Now the best two stabilization systems together in our CORS

Thanks to the cooperation with DMS, we have developed the perfect stabilization system for our CORS

DMS MagnusMaster, the rotor stabiliser for underway stabilisation

  • COMFORT

As the effectiveness of the rotors is already very noticeable at low speeds, the risk of seasickness is minimal.
The innovative system drive ensures far fewer moving parts, resulting in reduced noise level. The MagnusMaster is simply very quiet.

The control of the system is user-friendly and can be integrated into the onboard system. Operation is simple via an easy-to-read full-colour touch screen.
The MagnusMaster has been developed for your convenience.

  • IMPROVED ROLL DAMPING

Roll damping with the MagnusMaster is much more effective when the yacht is at speeds of 3 to 12 knots.

  • MINIMAL RISK OF BREAKDOWN

The MagnusMaster is fully electric and directly driven, eliminating the need for a fan belt. Maintenance-free bearings are used around the shafts. DMS has kept the technology as simple as possible, so that hydraulics, pumps, cylinders and pressure pipes are not necessary. This makes leaks and other hydraulic-related malfunctions, as well as unpleasant noise, a thing of the past.
Your MagnusMaster stabilisers do their job worry-free, safely, quietly and very effectively.

  • VERY COMPACT AND RETRACTABLE

The entire system is electrically retractable, preventing damage in shallow water. When retracted, the rotors remain within the turbulent boundary layer of the hull and resistance is therefore negligible, producing a favourable effect on fuel consumption. When retracted, they are almost impossible to damage during transport.
Because the rotors do not have any steering effect, the positioning — unlike with traditional fins — can be freely determined and a suitable place can always be found to install the very shallow and compact electric motor. Loss of space is therefore kept to a minimum and major renovations in the engine room are not necessary.

  • SAFE AND CONSIDERD

At DMS, the safety of people on board is key. That is why the rotors are automatically retracted when the vessel’s engine is put into neutral or the drive drops out. This prevents damage during maneuvering and mooring at a quay, lock, harbour or around other vessels and safety is guaranteed.

DMS Anti Rolling Gyro, for zerospeed stabilisation

  • BETTER COMFORT

The operation of the DMS ARG is problem-free. Zero speed stability is guaranteed for fast yachts and slow sailing yachts and is suitable for all hull shapes. In addition, the operation is much quieter than other gyros on the market and gives optimal results faster. Another advantage is the considerably shorter ‘read-out time’. Due to the larger gimbal angle – 180 degrees instead of 120 degrees – the DMS ARG responds better to higher waves. In other words, more damping of roll movements.

  • HIGH QUALITY

The fundamental concept and construction are much more durable due to the reduced design complexity compared to other providers in the gyro market. Smart thinking results in:
No penetrations through the hull; only a solid foundation needed
No need for water for cooling or a hydraulic system to operate fins
An exhaust fan only preferable in a confined space
Maintaining a vacuum is not necessary
Reduced complexity means fewer parts for maintenance or breakage
Air cooling has long since proven itself to be completely problem-free. The ARG has been running for years in various engine rooms of large commercial ships. It gets much hotter there than in any engine room on a yacht
Significantly longer service intervals that are easier to check thanks to read-outs
The ARG originates from the development of gyros for a space station. That high quality is incorporated in the ARG placed in your yachT

  • HIGH PERFORMANCE OUTPUT

Ultimately, of course, it is about results. Comparative tests have shown that:

The DMS ARG is operationally faster than the alternatives available from other suppliers

Using a larger gimbal swing angle of 180 degrees guarantees stabilisation for longer in higher waves. This makes the torque output the highest in the market

  • EASY INSTALLATION AND LOW MAINTENACE

The focus on durability, and therefore to keep maintenance requirements as low as possible, was already addressed during the design phase. That makes the shipyards’ job much easier. What else can you expect?
Installation is simple. There are no hull penetrations, only a solid foundation is needed
The relatively simple installation makes retrofitting possible
There is no electrical control unit resulting in far fewer malfunctions and a high level of safety
The bearings of the DMS ARG last up to 5x longer than those from competing brands
No water cooling required, meaning maintenance intervals are much longer

  • BETTER PRICE / VALUE RATIO

Simplicity was the starting point in the design. That has resulted not only in excellent durability, but also much lower production costs for the DMS ARG. The price/performance is therefore the best in the market. In short: the more torque, the greater the price advantage compared to other providers in the market. Up to 40% cheaper!

CONTROL AND AUTOMATION SYSTEM

Each CORMORANT has a hard-wire automation system. It is a panel with aesthetic buttons and controls. Its operation is the simplest possible. Starting a given system is done by pressing a button – and that’s it.
This solution allows the vast majority of devices to be connected with ordinary contactors. When the need arises, everyone will make repairs.
Moreover, for monitoring drive systems and generators. We assemble a Hi-End BOENING automation system. It is the highest possible quality electronic system made in Germany.
The system is expanded depending on the selected other equipment components.
The BOENING system watches over all the yacht’s systems and displays them on its own screen or as a page on the MFD.
The levels in the tanks are also displayed in this system.
The system allows for enormous expansion possibilities according to customer wishes
Each CORMORANT has a BOENING ignition with an immobilizer.

Switch cabinets

  • Each cormorant has two main switchboards.
  • First It is located in front of the Engine room. It includes the main circuits of inverters, chargers and edge socket protections.
  • Second It is located in the Pilot House, it handles the selection of power sources, selection of power from edge sockets.
  • Switching redundant systems.
  • Supply bag for bilge pumps.
  • Switching battery banks
  • Charging source selection
  • The settings are made by means of simple rotary switches on the graphic table corresponding to the power supply system.
  • Everything has been planned in such a way that, in stressful situations, you have no doubts about what we do.

DESIGN

DESIGN

When designing our yachts, the main emphasis was placed on the function and presence of the yacht owner as the capitan. Our yachts, despite their large size, can be driven yourself if you want. We will adjust the equipment so that it is possible without stressful situations.

You can also hire the crew if you want. Our project is prepared for this.

In fact, there are no contraindications for which a full-blooded travel trawler could not be nice, comfortable, with places for sunbathing and fishing from a spacious swimming platform.

So we did it.

Our designs are original because they perfectly combine the travel possibilities of yachts with a calm design. We have not deprived our yachts of elegance to look like an old fishing boat. At the same time, they are not targeted at one group of customers.

Our yachts are liked by both great travelers as well as those who begin their adventure with yachting and who want to sail along the coast.

Both of them share the same feature, the willingness to sail a yacht that is well-designed and perfectly made. A yacht where everyone can contribute during construction.

Our yachts combine all the best features of old Taiwan or US trawlers, but do not have any of their disadvantages

All our yachts will be built in our design office. The entire team has a direct impact on the projects. Both architects, technologists and system engineers.

RANGE AND FUEL SYSTEMS

Below we present charts on the basis of which you can get an idea of the range of our yachts. Please note that these values apply to yachts with standard equipment. additional tons in the form of optional equipment or the amount of fuel in additional tanks will affect the power demand and, consequently, the reduction of the range.

Each CORMORANT can be configured with additional fuel tanks.

  • As standard, we make tanks of 4mm steel with numerous partitions inside. Elements are laser cut, TIG welded. Each tank is insulated with adhesive rubber. This prevents the access of air and thus makes the tank long-lasting.
  • Each CORMORANT is equipped with approx. 120L 32USgal day and storage tanks according to specification. The first stage of fuel cleaning is performed by supplying fuel from the storage tank to the day tank. Then the fuel in the loop between the receivers (engines, generators) flows to the day tank, on the way it is cooled by a water cooler. There are additional filters in the loop, and on request, a centrifugal cleaning system can be turned on.
  • Each tank has a sump in which water and impurities are collected. Fuel is always taken above the pit. The wells are easy to empty.
  • The tanks can be equipped with natural level gauges, which ensure safety during large cruises.
  • On request, we make tanks from composites, which make better use of the space in the hull.
  • Composite tanks are laminated into the structure of the yacht, which improves the structural properties
  • If you choose an additional fuel tanks, the yacht’s fuel management system is additionally installed, allowing you to easily select and pump fuel.
  • Fuel management is connected in a simple way with the on-board automation, so the operation of the fuel is done by the buttons.
  • Fuel distributors. Each CORMORANT has extensive fuel distributors and auxiliary pumps, making it easy to switch, cut off tanks and change fuel filters during the voyage, without switching off the engines.
  • All fuel hoses are made of the highest quality materials and their ends are crimped
  • Reservoir for the dinghy. A fuel tank for DINGY and jet skis can be ordered. In this case, the refueling gun can be placed in the glove compartment of the swim platform and will be easily accessible.
  • Yacht refueling points. There is one refueling point on the starboard side as standard, additional refueling points on the port side can be ordered on request.
  • In the case of an extended fuel system, at the fuel caps there is an indicator with a tank switch informing about the amount of fuel in a given tank.
  • Fuel plugs are closed behind a cover and are equipped with drip trays so that reflected fuel does not spill onto the deck.
  • Each CORMORANT has ultrasonic fuel sensors with tank compensation. This means that the sensors’ indications refer to the real fuel values and not to the position of the sensor.
  • The fuel system can be equipped with a tilt sensor. In the event of crosswind on the route. The automation can pump fuel from the port to starboard tanks and vice versa to compensate for the tilt.

Emptying in the port. Could be pumping out the black water tank. While gray water is pumped into the black water tank. This solution helps to clean the black water tank. In addition, next to the sewage suction point, there is a rinsing valve, through which we can supply fresh port water, for cleaning the tank. The valves are located at the PilotHouse in degrees on the half deck starboard

Emptying in the sea. When the rules and common sense allow it. The gray water tanks are emptied directly into the sea using a sewage pump. The same has been solved for emptying black water.

  • The configuration of pumps and valves allows you to empty the tanks with only one efficient pump, switching the valves manually, thus changing the fluid circuits.
  • The black water pump and the gray water pump are of the same type, which allows them to be used interchangeably in the event of a failure.
  • In LRC configurations, an additional hand pump is installed for both Gray and Black water.
  • There are dense partitions in each of the tanks to prevent overflow of liquids. Each tank is equipped with an inspection with open access.
  • Each tank has an ultrasonic liquid level sensor with tank shape compensation. This means that the indicator on the control panel always shows the actual filling percentage instead of the sensor level.

WINDSHIELD WASHING SYSTEM

  • Each CORMORANT has a windscreen washing system with a large tank below deck. The reservoir is refilled with fresh water from the central system. There is an anti-pollution valve and a non-return valve at the entrance to the tank. The detergent is refilled remotely. RELIABLE AND PROVEN DRIVE SYSTEM

When defining customer needs, we assumed a double drive system for a much cheaper one with one large engine.

Using different engines for different purposes, we assumed that the drive transmission would always be the same. A simple and proven angular output from the transmission, which is integrated with the engine.

This guarantees the lowest number of parts and excellent service access. The simplicity of the design that can be handled by a mechanic anywhere in the world.

On request, in order to reduce natural vibrations from the propeller and vibrations from the engine, the assembly of the thrust transfer system from the propeller to the thrust bearing mounted on the technical bulkhead. In this solution, the motor and gearbox have extremely flexible vibro-shock absorbers ensuring excellent comfort.

ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS

We can assemble the engine of any manufacturer at the customer’s request. Why do we propose these brands
SCANIA MARINE Legendary V8 engines and six-cylinder engines. Perfectly balanced, appreciated all over the world. They have been propelling commercial ships for several decades. It is worth noting the excellent availability of parts and one of the largest service networks in the world.
SCANIA engines are extremely economical and provide high torques from the lowest revs.

We chose John Deere PowerTech because they are great engines for all conditions. We especially recommend them for expedition yachts. They have built their reputation by operating hundreds of trawler yachts around the world.

We can order an engine with slightly worse parameters with a charge air cooler with cooled water from the engine cycle. This solution prevents the cooling channels from clogging up when cooled with seawater. The entire structure is designed in a way that guarantees work in the worst conditions. They have a very good power to price ratio. They come in 4 and 6 cylinder in-line configurations.
The 6135 engines are exceptionally well balanced, providing excellent working comfort.
While it’s never good for an engine, these engines resist service neglect like no other.
They are of particular importance to those who want to sail around the world without worrying about accessing parts. As is commonly known. This manufacturer’s agricultural machinery is recognized all over the world. Therefore, access to parts is available in every agricultural store in the world.

ENGINE CONFIGURATION

When determining the specification, getting to know the customer’s requirements, swimming areas, speed, choosing the engine brand. We perform a comparative analysis. Its result is presented with a multi-page report.

TRANSMISSIONS

  • All our configurations assume the use of ZF transmissions. Depending on the client’s criteria, they are selected in different work ratings.
  • Each CORMORANT is equipped with a trolling valve mounted on the gearbox, which slows down the rotation of the propeller during maneuvers in the port.
  • Depending on the configuration of other devices, the gears are equipped with a PTO output for driving, e.g. a hydraulic pump.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SUSPENSION

We use two types of engine and transmission suspensions.

  • When the thrust bearing is loaded in the transmission, we use double two-way vibration isolators so that they are stiff against the bolt pressure and flexible in other directions
  • In case of using an intermediate thrust bearing apart from the motor and gear. The engine and gears are relieved of thrust. In this case, we always use a very soft and comfortable suspension.

We make mounts for suspensions according to our designs, they allow for easy replacement of worn vibrozillotors. They have multidirectional regulation. This solution allows the use of vibration isolators other than the originally installed, without the need to replace the mount. This applies to cases of damage in the farthest corners of the world.

The engine and transmission are mounted on extremely rigid stringers built over the structural stringers. The stringers are made of solid laminate reinforced with multi-directional glass fiber mats, and strapping cords. In addition, the upper part of these foundations is forged with a stainless sheet with a thickness of 8mm – 5/16 „

Engine and transmission control systems

  • The basic engine and transmission control system is based on ZF smart command systems. These absolutely reliable devices allow for full integration of all installed control systems.
  • The basic layout is equipped with a lever with numerous useful functions. Assistants during maneuvers in the marina. The ability to set the swing curve with the lever allows you to very precisely use the power.
  • The system has feedback with a shaft speed sensor. Which gives perfect precision in propelling the propeller, especially in the marina. when we need low power.
  • The Joystick maneuvering system is available on request. Allows you to steer the yacht with a joystick. This system has a position hold function, e.g. when waiting to enter the marina.
  • The JMS system is integrated with thrusters.
  • On request, the system can be equipped with a docking remote control.

ELECTRICAL AND CONTROL INSTALLATION OF THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

  • Wiring for the engine and transmission. Control and power are routed over the top of the engine and then routed over the ceiling of the engine room. Starter batteries for propulsion engines and generators are located in a separate space from the engine room and almost under the ceiling of the engine room when viewed in section.
  • These solutions ensure the operation of devices in the case of the worst events.

WATER INTAKE FOR COOLING

  • As a standard, we equip our CORMORANTS with two cooling water intakes, one for each engine. On request, we install double consumption for each engine, in case of sticking, for example, of a plastic bag.
  • Each CORMORANT is equipped with a pressure sensor mounted behind the water filter. In the Pilot House, the high exhaust temperature sensor will alert you that the filter is blocked.
  • Each CORMORANT with BOENING system signals closed cooling water valves and will not allow the engines to start.

EXHAUST SYSTEMS

  • We use underwater exhaust systems with modeled exhaust output. Shaper and deflector. A bypass is installed for the engine to run at low speed.
  • Power generator exhaust systems are equipped with a gas separator. We assemble exhaust systems from two companies, CENTEK and Halyard.

VENTILATION

  • Medium-sized motors and generators give about 60kW / 205k BTU of thermal energy to the room. Ventilation must be effective.
  • The ventilation of the machine room is calculated according to the strict ISO standards for an outdoor temperature of 35 ° C / 95 ° F and a maximum indoor temperature of 47 ° C / 116 ° F. Our engine rooms are therefore equipped with such large fans. In addition, the system always consists of port side and starboard side. So, in the event of one failure, half of it always works fine.

COOLING OF ELECTRIC POWER INVERTERS

  • Inverters are very sensitive to the increase in ambient temperature at an ambient temperature of  65 ° C / 149 ° F, losing half their capacity. For this, each CORMORANT has independent cooling of inverters.

AIR CONDITIONING IN THE MACHINE ROOM

  • At the customer’s request, we install air conditioning in the engine room. It is especially useful for work

FIRE PROTECTION

  • The SEA-FIRE system with an automatic and manual release triggered outside the engine room watches over the protection of the engine room from fire. Extinguishing is done with a non-marking agent in the engine room.

SERVICE

  • All CORMORANTS have a very well planned machine room. We spend hundreds of hours arranging installations and devices so that the machine room is ergonomic and aesthetic.
  • Each CORMORANT has a full-size engine room door.
  • Engines may have additional acoustic and thermal covers.
  • These covers have several functions, preventing burns when there is a need to enter the Engine Room during the cruise. They are covered with rubber, so they form a workshop surface. They insulate caustically. They are lifted on cylinders, giving you quick and easy access.

OIL CHANGE

  • Each CORMORANT has an oil change system with a pump. The basic version does not include storage tanks and is intended for external service.
  • For the LRC configuration, tanks for fresh oil and used oil are installed, allowing for 2-3 changes in the engine and transmission, which allows for 600H of operation. It is enough to make a three-week crossing.
